As a psoriasis sufferer, I've been told that salt baths would help ease my condition which persists despite twice-daily applications of a prescription steroid cream.
Initially, I tried Epsom salts. They're inexpensive, after all, and available at grocery- and drugstores. Although I did see a slight improvement, a friend who's into homeopathic remedies suggested that I try Dead Sea salts. Epsom salts, she explained, are magnesium sulfate which is anti-inflammatory - a property that might explain the slight relief I saw after their use. It's now Tuesday, four days after my shipment arrived. I've soaked each evening in a salt bath (2 cups salt in my large garden-style bathtub) for an hour. I'm pleased to say that the psoriasis patches on my hands look better than they have in over a year, and the patches on my elbows are all but gone.
